Bypass AC Controls to test System?

My fan speed control is rusted frozen. Im sure even if i could turn it, the contacts are probably too shot to make any kind of connection to start the system. Before i go and order a new expensive control, is there any way to jumper the ac system to at least see if it functions? It hasnt worked since i had the car. I searched around but couldnt find an answers.
Thanks.

EDIT: Just realized i posted in the wrong forum. I reposted in the tech forum. Mods you may delete this topic.
