New Supertec studs & misc installed today....
 

I have to give a shoutout to Henry Schmidt and his headstud product. First of all, it is well packaged complete with plastic protectors on the studs. Secondly, it comes complete with the nuts and washers (of course), but also 2 locknuts used for installing, as well as Loctite for the case end and anti-seize for the head end. All you need is a case with clean threads, two 14mm wrenches and a couple of paper towels. Again, if you're looking at new steel studs, nuts and washers, what's a couple of $$ more for a high quality product engineered by a guy who's given all of us some advice?

I also got my breather and the senders in, t-stat, the rear main seal (I think it's easier to install this after the case is together), as well as new sealing rings on all of the plumbing fixtures on the case. I'm really liking this building "stuff"; it's clean work, and it's nice using up some of my new parts.

BTW, I personally carried the kit back on the plane the other day from SoCal. The studs obviously got flagged at security, but after inspecting, the Fed guys wanted to know what kind of engine I was building, and how much power it will have, etc. Actually, one of the few pleasant travels thru X-ray as I assumed I'd get a bunch of flak or go on the "no-fly" list!

are the studs made from Dilavar or stainless steel. I guess you spend a fortune for these little Tooth-sticks.

If they were round out of platin my wife would want them.

Not Dilavar, but they are marketed as an alloy. They really are only about 50% more that if you were replacing with a full set of steel studs, nuts & washers.

Pity that these shining studs will disappear in complete darkness for (I would hope) ages ....

I've installed Henry's studs on customer cars this year and I'm really pleased with them. No issues and the little things like the included locker nuts, loctite, etc.. were a very nice touch that I didn't expect. Show's his attention to detail!
