Machine Shop in Michigan? Does anyone know of a qualified Machine Shop in Michigan? I'm in the middle of a rebuild on a 1980 3.0l and need machine shop work and hot tanking done. Thanks, |

I'm located in Rochester Hilld, MI. I am in the process to rebuilt my 3.0 SC engine because of 5 broken head studs :( I have send my camshafts to Doug to regring them with the 964 profile. I have let my heads to Randy at Autowork in Pontiac. He will do the valve job and resurface the heads. A co-worker of mine has recommended him. He usually do a good job. I will see. If you want the contact you can PM me, I will be glad to talk with you. Good luck. Here is a picture of my engine: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1191586925.jpg |

Do you have an address or phone number for Autowork in Pontiac (no listings) and who is Doug (that you sent your cams to)? |
|
Check with Craig and Denny Garrett. (dgarr and cgarr here on pelican). They do VERY nice work. |

Dcriss, send me a PM will forward you the contact. I have seen him today: he will change guides and I have 1 broken spring (intake #1). I order the parts for him. Doug from DR Camshafts, check his website. Good delay, good price. I haven't received back my camshafts. Where are you located? This aafternoon I have removed 2 broken head studs: I have threaded them M8 + Snap on tool + impact wrench + propane torch. Works fine. Thanks Wayne. Good luck. |

I'll second cstreit's recommendation for the Garrett fellas doing your head work. They do an outstanding job and get them done in a timely fashion for you. Denny and Craig and great fellas. |

If you dont mind shipping your parts out, I sent all my machine work to Troy at EBS (Reno, NV), and they did a phenominal job. Not only was the work top notch, he also made sure it was done in a timely manner |
