supertec 12 plug goodness
 

Here is my step by step install of the supertec gen1 12 plug dizzy. I thought I would share in the rebuild forum as I did the rebuild of my engine here and this is step 2 after the rebuild and break is to finally fire all 12 of those plugs and start to turn up the boost.. Have fun with the pics.

gotta run the bottom wires yet and all the connectors etc plus mount a second coil.. What plug wrench(socket) do you guys use for the bottom plugs as they are a different size as the top (14mm thread vs 12 mm on the bottom

Looks good. I twin plugged my engine as a "while you were in there", but dont plan on hooking it up till later. I am just using a set of old plugs for now. I am having an issue installing my bottom plugs. They are the same size as the top, but I just cant find a socket that is thin enough to clearance the edge of plug and the sidewalls of the heads. I plan on buying a cheap spark plug socket and grinding off the corners.

For the lower plugs, have you considered using a plug with a smaller hex, hence smaller plug socket. (16mm across against 20.5mm)
The NGK plugs with the "C" denote the smaller hex e.g. BPC7ES, the normal hex being a BP7ES

Thanks for pointing that out Paul. I will have to keep that in mind for when I actually do set up the twin plug system. I am going to re-use my old ones for now so I dont gunk up a set of brand new (and very expensive) plugs.

what head nut have you fitted?? you may find with the std head nuts the plug spanner has not got the clearance and you may find by changing the 10mm Allen key nut to a 15mm hex will sort the prob' , if you have ARP or Supertec studs you should be OK as thay use nuts as std, it may be then a machining prob'?

Ben, A standard 5/8 socket is what works on the 12mm plugs,

Whats nice is when you use the smaller 12mm spark plug for the lower set you never run into clearance issues like you do when using the 14mm
