Recondition used SC oil pump?
It hit me that the only important subassembly that I haven't had a pro look at is the SC oil pump I got used from Dan Pechtel.
There's not much in the archives other than the recommendation to get a GT3 pump. What should be done to a stock SC pump to ensure it will last for the next hundred thousand miles? What do the professional shops do? I recall Supertec makes an internal mod for flow?

Here's one thread. . . .
Seized 930 Oil Pump Suggests that the method of reconditioning is to reduce the end clearance (I assume of the gears) by filing them down. Then presumably you would machine the housing down also, otherwise you would have axial play of the gears. . . Does this prevent oil from sneaking around the end of the gears?

I just took mine apart and cleaned it. Checked it for excessive play by using my own best guess. Ran my fingernails around looking for grooves that should not be there etc. etc. I was satisfied. Make sure you mark (I used a scribe) the pump gears so the same hills and valleys meet again on the reassembly. Put it all back together and sealed it up in a ziplock with liberal WD-40. In hind sight I could have media blasted the shell, but it really didn't need it...
