Clutch Fork – Pressure Plate question
914-6 motor, 901 transmission, stock flywheel, pressure plate, new clutch disk.
No washer behind the Fork Ball, new plastic cup in fork. When I bolt the transmission to the engine there is no play in the fork. The Throw-out bearing is pushed back against the studs that hold the guide tube. The Bearing is not free from the fingers on the pressure plate so there is no play. The only thing I can think is the PO changed the studs, but they protrude out of the nut by only a ½ to 1 turn. Any suggestions?? Ken

might try a search. Not quite sure about your description. Did you have to rotate the throwout bearing to get the transaxel off the engine? mine had very little play when I took it out and the same when I put it back in with new disc. Everything had been replaced by a shop but the fly wheel wasn't turned so the disc was ripped up pretty good.
