Oil galley plug sealer
Pulling a 2.7 mag case down for pins, line bore etc and found when removing the oil galley plugs there is a lot of factory brown sealer in the passages. Some is still in tact in the form of large droplets and it chips off very easy.. Anyone else find lots of sealer in these galleys too?

When I cleaned mine, I dont know if that was sealer, but I found that black stuff sticky on the walls of the orifice. I use a piece of stainless steel wire to remove the most "sealer" that I can. Then I used a lot of carb cleaner and compressed air to clean the passajes. Also I found grey silicone on the engine thru bolts holes, oil pump o-rings, oil cooler o-rings, cam towers to cylinder head surface and in the #8 nose bearing o-ring.

I have a set of gun cleaning rods that I have used over the years.
They have both brass and stainless wires on them, and they do a very good job if you size them to the hole closely. Also, I never use press in plugs after cleaning, always tap (thread) and use a screw-in plug (my paranoia). Bob
