Webers - Startup Tuning
 

I have a set of Weber Ida 40's that I am installing on my 2.4 w/ Ecams for the first time. I was wondering if for my first adjustment this would be correct

Idle Adjusting Screws (Red) - 2 Turns out

Air Correctors (Yellow) - All the way in

Then make minor minor adj to the Air correctors using an air flow gauge.. Correct?

I know, I know.. the carbs "look bad" .. that'll be the next thing to do. Im mainly concerned w/ Running at this point.. . Wait'll you see the rest of the engine.. I dont think you'll be disappointed. : )

Search my name and "webers" and you'll find links to a 7-step approach that will get you started and tuned. I wasnt the author but I re-posted it recently as it works.

Also, the red-boxed ones aren't "idle adjusting screws," they are your mixture screws. They have the most impact on misture at lower rpm, but it is the mixture not the idle they are adjusting.

Your idle adjustment screws are on the end of the carbs toward the back of the car and act on the linkage.

The yellow-circled ones are indeed your air screws. Start with them out 1/8 to 1/4 turn and follow the instructions in the link.

The problem I had was the PO had a mixture screw from another model of Webers installed in one body. I had to back that one way out to match the mixture to the others but now its spot-on. (I think.) Wideband O2 sensor goes on tomorrow.
