Converting MFI to CIS

I am exchanging the 2.4 MFI in my 73 to a 77 2.7 CIS motor . Since I did not have an original CIS accumulator and filter I need to locate one . My question is must I use a early type with the filter mounted above the accum. at a 45 degree angle or a later SC style side by side set-up ? I was not sure if the later would work. Also do you know of a source for installed photos of the accum. system ?

Thanks

Bossladys,

I have a '74 with CIS. In the past I tried to locate a 911SC setup for my fuel filter. I was unable to find one so I stuck with the old setup with the NLA fuel filters. I've found a couple of filters so that should last for a few years.

Anyway, I'll take a picture of the accumulator and NLA filter setup tonight and post it here.

Stay tuned....

Fuel accumulator

The accum. setup I located is the later side by side type with with a half circle metal line beneath connecting the two . I think the correct type for the year has the filter mounted above at a 45 degree angle. Please forward any photos and thanks. You can email me at 69gtodude@sbcglobal.net.

Here's a picture of my setup. The motor is out of the car so the connection on top of the filter as well as the return line, are not present. But you can see clearly the supply line to the accumulator and output to the filter.

Hope this helps.

Fuel system

Thanks, this is the style I thought was correct. Do you know if the later style SC system would work ?That would have the metal loop line from the bottom of the filter to the accumulator .That may be the type you spoke of previously. The photo helps also by showing me which is supply and return by the accumulator . I assume the swivel nut attached to my motor is the supply and the plain plastic line is the return from the motor .
I appreciate the help.

The later SC system will work provided the nut on the intake hose will mate with the filter. My return hose is braided rubber, not plastic.

I recommend you ask this question in the 911 Technical forum. You'll get numerous answers especially from those who have experience with this sort of conversion.
