E pistons and E cams to a 911 T

Im having the chance to buy 911 E pistons and Cams, as well as the heads and the cylinders but what would it be okay for the 2.2 T (the E parts are from a 2.2 as well) any opinions, what would you get from those pieces, what is the good or bad choice having those pistons and cams or the cylinders and heads as well or are they the same (cyls and heads).

The idea of having the actual 2.2 T pistons worked and the T cam rengrind to E spec were the main idea but now i have that chance, any suggestions

Thanks in advance

I'm doing the same thing with my 2.2T. Get the 2.2E Pistons, Cylinders, and Cams. You will end up with a nice engine. You can't run the 2.2E Pistons with your existing T Cylinders so buy the P&Cs together. The heads on the 2.2T and 2.2E are the same other than the injector ports on the E heads. If you are sticking with carbs then stick with the heads you have.

Awesome, the E cams should work just perfect and the pistons and cylinders should be OK that's where I'm having doubts, I'm going to work with webers and finding out that and the distributor, because the marelli is just not the best fit in terms of easy maintenance.

Any more opinions?

Is the main difference once you install the E pistons & cylinders with the E cams just the fact that the crank is not counterbalanced?

From what I understand the crank is counterbalanced on the E and S to reduce noise and wear at their higher hp levels. Is that correct?

I also have a 2.2 T and it will need a rebuild at some point. I'm planning on buying a 3.2 to drop my carbs onto while I rebuild the 2.2 over time.

I think the ports are bigger on the E heads. The non counterweighted crankshaft will work fine. Some racers prefer it due to the lighter weight.

They are both 84mm but 2.2T cylinders are cast iron and 2.2E cylinders are Biral.

The ports on the 2.2 T and E heads are the same 32/32
