ae valves? any opinions?
I need a few new valves on my rebuild and my machinest suggested the ae (federal mogul) brand. I have previously used trw and intervalve, anyone have any experience with ae (price is right!)

Sorry, I have only used SI valves and NOS ATE. The price of original for your heads isn't astronomically high like it is for the early cars.

The AE brand is actually the same (i'm told) as the TRW brand. TRW was aquired by federal mogul who produces the AE valves. I hear they are a bit new and they are a really good price.

The last set of TRW valves I got had nicks in the stem tops towards the keepers, would not even go thru the guide, could not even use them, very poor quality control if any I would guess. Never had a problem with IV's Maybe I just had bad luck, but they were packaged well.
