'89 964 Alternator & Fan Housing

Got the alternator and fan assembly torn apart and need some advice.

The alternator bearings are chirping so I'm going to replace it.

The fan hub bearing feels like marbles, so I'm going to replace that.

I found the shroud has a small, hairline crack and a ridge along the crack. The fan blades have made contact with that high ridge and are a little worn. Below are some pictures. Note that I spent about an hour sanding down the ridge so it is not very visible anymore. The area of actual contact was just localized to the line of the crack. The shinny area is from my sanding.

Can I reuse the shroud? If yes, should it be painted or coated?

Can I reuse the fan? If yes, shoud it be painted or coated?

Thanks!

Anyone have any worries about reusing the fan shroud?

With new bearings I dont see why it would be a problem. I poweder coated my fan, and I had no clearance issues.

If you want to replace all that, I am selling my entire fan/shroud/alt assembly for 600.00 in the classifieds. My stuff looks great.
