Help after rebuild, please - brake pedal stiff but weak breaks

I didn't do any break work during the build, but now the pedal is hard but the breaks are weak. It feels like there is no power assist. I replaced the clutch slave, though. Can it be related? Thanks.

Are you sure you are getting vacuum to the booster? You might have left the line plugged or disconnected.

Phil

Thanks, Phil. You jogged my memory that I had to disconnect the ABS pump connector as part of the prep for engine removal - though I don't know why. Forgot to reconnect. Much better, now! Dumb...

Not dumb, just normal.

I think the engine build is the easy part. It is getting all of the fuel injection, electrical and misc junk at the end all done to get the engine started. I forgot a couple of things too. I think with me, it was being anxious to get it in and running.
