Loctite 574. Any other product comparable?
Just curious as I believe I will have a hard time finding that stuff in the am for my final build. I have Curil-T but I dont think thats the right stuff. Is there any other sealant you would reccomend available at a standard auto parts store?
Thanks Josh

There are many threads here on sealants. I've used locktite 318 and a red permatex from NAPA with sucess. They are both anerobic sealants (hard cure in absence of air). I now use Dow 730 white silicon. I will never go back to Locktite. All of them will work if used correctly.

I used loctite 574 up until my latest build for my own car. On that I used threebond 1104 for case and cam towers.
Probably not going to go back to 574. Motor is nice and dry. I thought I would try this stuff first on my own motor but now will use for customers too! Cheers

Well I ended up going with Yamabond a product listed as equivalent to the threebond 1104. Guys at the bike shop swear by it and it was available.
fingers crossed for a leak free engine!! Josh
