Worth it to buy 3.3 with cracked case?

i have an 81 sc coupe that im giving the full 930 treatment, and im browsing everywhere to find the right motor application my car has a stock 3.0 in it but is on its way out, i love the 3.3li turbo and have been searching for a couple of months and all i have come across is ones around 8500 to 9 thousand dollars,i really cant float something like that right now so i was looking towards a blown 3.3 li my mechanic specializes in porsches but im wondering how much work would it cost to bring the motor back from the dead in comparison to just saving and buying a regular 3.3? im pulling hair out over this please help thanks

I suspect it will cost around the same amount of money to rebuild the cracked case 3.3 as to buy an $8k-$9k engine.

If it was going to be an easy or fairly inexpensive fix, I don't think that you would find one. I believe that it would have already been repaired. Good luck on your hunt. Tony.
