Piston Height Group ???'s
What defines "height group" physically? Is it the distance from the pin centerline to the top of the crown?
TIA Pat |
Call me ignant, but I thought only cylinders were rated for height, not pistons?

Thanks ianc:
That's pretty much what I thought regarding cylinders. I had a discussion with someone yesterday and the topic of piston height groups came up. I can't find any references anywhere regarding the pistons, however. Maybe no such animal... Pat |
Pistons and cylinders come in tolerance (4) groups for diameter.
Cylinders come in 2 height groups. There isn't any sort of height group for pistons that I know of. -Chris |
Thanks Chris:
My original question derives from the mixed set of 10.5:1 Andial pistons for my 2.7. The clyliders are all the same height group, but the pistons have different markings on them. They all seem to measure out the same, however. Pat |
