How Do You Get Rid of Ceramic Ex Inserts 964/993

Is there a way to get rid of these or find heads without the ceramic inserts, and with a 3 bolt intake flange to port these heads?

Thanks,
Dave

All 3.6 heads had ceramic liners so the only way you find any without is to locate them that were discarded. :)

I've never tried to remove them so I cannot offer a suggestion on that, but we have had Extrude-Hone successfuly port them to our specification for some good flow improvements.

All 3.6 heads have 3-bolt intake flanges.,...:)

as they "age" most loose these liners anyway ;)

Seriously, why do you want to get rid of them? Are you concerned about porting or is there another reason?

Just use enough boost until they fall out by themselves...

28 psi. But it wasn't boost that killed the head but EFI glitch. Due to mapping problem, backfire occured and there was a bit too much fuel and air in cylinder for head to cope.
