Oil Tank Install On 1978 911 SC

I recently installed my oil tank in my 78SC. After completing
the job I found a couple of rubber spacers with metal center's in
another coffee can I had been keeping all the nuts and bolts.

Are they supposed to go on the oil tank first......outside the engine compartment?
Between the body and the engine compartment?

I have searched and can not find a good enough diagram showing the installation of the oil tank.

Thanks In Advance for your help.

Kevin,
FWIW, this is the factory mounting hdwe that was installed on my '79. No rubber spacers with metal centers, just these plastic or wax appearing isolators and shrouded metal washers. If I remember correctly, they sandwich both sides of the engine compartment wall and effectively isolate the tank mounting tabs/studs from the body. The only rubber isolators I remember seeing were used to isolate the fuel filter/accumulator assy and the electronic panel on the opposite side. Hope this helps.

Mike

Thanks for your reply and picture Mike. Yes, those are the ones
I used to install it with.
Looking around in my basement this morning I found another
oil tank with the identical hardware so I'm confident I have it
installed properly. Sure glad I will not have to pull it back out.
As for the other spacers I guess I will find out where they go
as I continue my build.

Thanks again ........ the picture helped me a lot, It's been years
since I have had one of these out of a 911. Have Good Day.
