I think I meant intake port flange and a minus .25 (inch) or minus .01 (mm) in view of the numbers you posted here earlier. Thanks. |
I just did clearance check on my 2.7 engine today. Assembled #1 and #3 cylinders, piston in #1. Torqued the two heads, put the tower on,put the cam in, timed the cam, and checked the clearance through many rotations. Then, turned in the adjuster on the intake one full turn (which is 1 mm), rotated the engine. No interference. Repeated up through 3mm, no intereference. Did the same for the exhaust. I figure 3mm clearance is plenty good. Then, took it all apart. Yeah, it takes a long time to do, but not as long as rebuilding an engne that got the valves smashed into the pistons.
