silicone valve cover gaskets
Purchased a set of silicone valve covers gaskets from Pelican,,, the note instructs a nut torque value of 35-45 inch pounds,,,,, does this include the torque for the new self-locking nuts also,, or should I add it to what it takes for the nut to spin? Thanks,, Lenny

It refers to a standard nut torque setting. The Nyloc nuts you refer to are all over the place in terms of the amount of torquing down to the surface of of the valve cover. In answer to your question on torque amount, it would be additive.
You would take the value of the amount of torque to turn the nut on the stud, plus the recommended final torque amount. The important thing is to have even pressure all around the valve cover so the gasket does not squirm. I also apply a very thin film of Curil-T on the cam tower and valve cover surfaces.

I've used these and torque so you can see just a bit of squish evenly all around
