Many people powder coat. I didn't b/c I wanted a stock look, but I have seen hundreds powder coated. Things to remember. Check clearances between the fan and housing before, and after. sometimes the coating is too thick, and the fan and housing will rub. Also the paint will chip over time. Another reason I stayed stock

Tell the coater not to coat the tips of the fan. That helps. If it is still too tight, loosen the fan strap. Many tighten it too much and the whole housing gets out of round. makes a horrible sound on start up... don't ask me how I know... If it is still too tight you will have to file down the fan blades very carefully. Smart people might even do that before coating it Good luck, Michael
