Question Electromotive Crankfire settings?

Does anyone know what a good baseline setting here would be?

I have a 2.7 running GE40 cams, carbs, header and 9.8:1 compression.

TIA

Josh

timing

I am assuming its a single plug, set your initial (idle) at 12 -15 deg. and if its a single plug you can go to 34 -35 deg. as a total. twin plug only needs 28- 30 deg total. without knowing what system you have and how much mechanical advance you have (the position of the sensor dictates this) set the inital to 15, set the 3000 to 10, and if you have around 10 mechanical you in theory should have 35 deg total. Be SURE to confirm with a timing light and adjust the 3000 setting to get the total #, also the HPV1 & the HPX have another pot that will add or remove timing from about 5k up to full rev's in small increments that should be set at zero unless it has a drift problem (which usually retards timing all the way to full revs) then you can add a little to that pot to keep the total timing where you would like it. (a dyno is about the only way to see it pull timing out because it does it in such small increments) we have seen as much as 10 deg. drift out of the total and just kills the power.

Good luck, Mike Bruns JBRacing.com
