Rebuild 1970 2.2T?
I have very recently purchased a 1970 2.2T. The engine has to be rebuilt and I would just like to know what some of my options are concerning increasing performance? I am willing to put a few thousand $$ into it.

WELCOME to the forum. The search feature will reveal literally dozens of threads of people seeking more performance from their 911T. The short answer is, for only a few thousand, you are best sticking with a stock rebuild to original specs.
|
^That being said if you are used to driving a tired stock motor, a new fresh stock one with a few goodies will be a blast.
|
What kind of goodies?

How do you know it needs to be rebuilt? Compression and leakdown numbers?
If you do rebuild the motor, no point putting the 2.2 crank and rods back in when 2.4 crank and rods will fit nicely. And of course don't forget the E cams. |
There is lots of blue smoke and it runs quite rough. I am going to check the compression this weekend.
