Question EDM First or just send it?

Hey guy's, I'm on the verge of sending my engine parts off to Ollie's. My question is, because i have a broken head stud really close to the case, a small exhaust stud broken close to the case and a stud broken on one of the heads, do i need to send this stuff to have these stud's zapped out at TapEx or can i just send it off to Ollie's? I'm sure they know how to handle this situation, but i wanted to make sure before i start shipping parts from Chicago to California. I was hoping to get a quick answer from the forum first, if not I'll just call them in a few hours...Thanks!

I had work done by them. I did not have a problem with broken studs but I did have case savers installed (since I have a mag case). My recommendation is to send it to Ollie's first. Then call them up and see how they propose to deal with the broken studs. If they are confidednt that they can get them out I would trust them. You could always propose to them to have the studs removed by EDM. They may have someone that already does that work for them either in house or local. I had a couple broken exhaust studs removed many many years ago by the EDM process. It works great.

I figured that would be the case, I just wanted to make sure. Anyhow, I gave Ollies a ring and they reassured me that they would be able to handle it, the're super cool!

Thanks!

Ollie's extracted many broken studs, air tubes etc. No problems, and they did very nice work
