HI guy's I think I made a mistake; I had my Timing chain housing's sandblasted and not bead blasted as was instructed by WD rebuild book! I know I have to clean them like there's no tomorrow to get the sand residue off, but did I potentially mess up the matting surface's on the housing's? Did I destroy them?

Mating surfaces should be fine as long as they are not pitted from blasting. You can go over them with some scotchbrite if you like, to smooth them up. This is also a good opportunity to make sure your mating surfaces are still flat!

I would use a straight knife blade set at 90 degrees to the surface and scrape them gently. This removes pitting and corrosion. It should leave a nice shiny surface behind. I did this a couple of times on 3.6 engines when re-sealing cam housings and there were leak-free every time.
