Pics of a Valeo Alternator for an '84 Carrera?

Hey guys. In the process of removing (read banging) my alternator out of the fan shroud, the alternator separated slightly and two wires pulled out of their locations.

The alternator has three wires on one side and four on the other.

I need a picture of the side with three white wires soldered to three wire nut posts so I can hopefully figure out which wire belongs to which post.

If any of you have your Carrera rebuild in progress and you have not installed your alternator, I will be very appreciative if you could snap some close-ups!

Take it to an auto electric shop that rebuilds alternators. If you get it wrong, and connect B+ to ground, when you connect the battery you will have an 800 amp short.

Thanks John! I tried around and got vague promises to "look at it" but no one seemed confident. I am in NJ. Do you know any shops in NY or NJ that can handle this type of work?

Thanks

I don't know anyone down there. Google turned up "Dicks Auto Electric."

I have just such an alternator sitting on my shelf, but I won't be near the car for a few weeks.

Update:

I soldered the wires as inidcated in the picture and took the alternator to a shop that specializes in alternators. They put it on their bench and it tested perfectly.

$5 charge and I am good to go.

Thanks OldTee!!
