difference between 3.2 and 3.0 crankcases

Hi Everyone,
I'd like to know what the difference between a 3.2 and 3.0 crankcase.
Can you transfer a 3.0 engine into a 3.2???

Regards
Isaac

The main difference is the 3.0 and early 3.2 cases have a sump cover for access to the oil pump screen. The 3.2 and all later air cooled 911 cases were cast without this access cover.
The parts from your 3.0 will transfer into a 3.2 or 3.3 case for that matter, without issue. I would of coarse replace the SC pump with a 3.2 or newer pump.
There are some bosses on the 3.2 case that make going the other direction (3.2 in a 3.0 case) a little more of a challenge.
