Crank shaft work
Anyone know of good place to have a crank worked on the the Cleveland, Ohio area?

You might try Gellner Engineering on Bookpark Road. They will balance, polish, magnaflux and a few other or perhaps give you a lead if you need more.

Before you send the crank anywhere...."ring" it first.
Hold it by one of the counterweights, strike it CAREFULLY with a wrench or something metal. Listen to the sound it makes. If it sounds clear like a bell.....no cracks (probably). If it goes "doink"....you got problems. You might have to get it welded....and that is not the best solution for our engines....means a lot of expensive work. Bob
