Please Help !!! (cam Timing Values)
 

Hello to all,

I have the LH cam towe opened I have also remove the tensioner and undo the big nut.I leave engine to work on it later.When I came back my little brother has done his "trick" he remove the cam nut - cam pin and ofcourse cam nut ! :mad::mad::mad: Take notes ?? What notes :mad::mad:
Does anyone have the cam timing values handy ?

Engine #66603xx 1976 3.0 Carrera (930/02).

I found the following values :
0.9 to 1.1 mm (0.035” to 0.043”) for the 1976 and 1977 3.0 liter Carrera

Can someone confirm if they are the correct ones :confused:

Those numbers are correct according to Bruce's book. That cam profile was used for the C3, SC and Carrera so you could set it to anything between .9 and 1.7mm (though it wouldn't make much difference.)
The spec alone is insufficient for setting the timing on the left - you need to make the left and right match. It's more important to make the left match the right than the actual value.

Hi Jim,
From the factory manual, intake valve opens 1.0 mm @ 1 degree before top dead center.
Setting should be 0.9 to 1.1 mm @ TDC.
Your info is correct.
It should be noted this is the same cam and cam timing as the '78 and '79 SC's.
The SC's changed the same cam to 7 degrees before TDC in '80. 1.4mm to 1.7mm.
The '84 Carrera's with the same cam split the difference and went for 4 degrees BTDC.
1.1mm to 1.4mm.

Yep what Chris said just check the right and set left. Yes you need valve clearance checked/set before you measure to make sure it's correct on right side also set left side before you time it. If right side is not the consensus .9-1.1mm holler back.
