2002 911 ims bearing
hi .im in the middle of replacing the ims bearing on my 2002 911 . how do you remove the bearing if only the outer race is left in the shaft...all the little bearing flew out of the center ..and the out race is in there..there is nothing grab on to pull it .can anybody help thanks ..

ok,
I don't have a boxster or a 996 so it looks like there is not a lip of some kind for the slide hammer to hook onto if that is the case, then you will either have to buy, rent, borrow the right tool, or make something that you can use a slide hammer or some other kind of extracter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAxj6FKMzvM |

there is no lip .. I was thinking trying to cutting it then use slide hammer is that a good idea? will it hurt the other side of the shaft is I use a slide hammer?

I also notice that the shaft is not center .." It slightly shift to the driver side" will it go back center if I loose the timing tensioner.
