Piston identification !
Could anyone please shed some light regarding to what comp. ratio is the following piston ? Is from a European SC but not sure about the year.
Inside the piston markings : MAHLE, +93L7, CO11 Cylinder markings : MAHLE m, 95zn1w1 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1217013840.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1217013863.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1217013882.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1217013907.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1217013925.jpg TIA, Jim |

93L7 is the standard 8.5 CR Mahle Nikasil piston. I have a box full of these with matching cylinders if you need a few. |
Jim
The 93L7 is the Mahle 8.5 CR piston for the 3.0 SC For reference, the Mahle 9.3 CR for the 3.0 SC is - 95L67 The Mahle 9.8 CR for the 3.0 SC is - 95L70. Here's some pics: 8.5 CR - 93L7 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1217065850.jpg 9.3 CR - 95L67 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1217065912.jpg 9.8 CR - 95L70 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1217065990.jpg |
I'm told these will fit into my 2.7 block even though they came from 3.0.
Can anyone help confirm this? Cylinders have "MAHLE G**" cast on one side & "95ZN1W4" on the otherside, 11 fins. On the inside of the pistons, "Mahle" "93L7" "++" "CO11" |
Will not fit

The headstuds are farther apart on the 3.0 and up.

Thank you.
Somebody confused me with a big bore kit they said would fit the 2.7 crankcase. |
Big bore kits for the 2.7 is the 92mm 2.8 and I think there was 2.9 also but the walls have to get pretty thin. I ve never seen a 2.9 but heard of them.
