oil pump binding..

I am assembling a 2.7 for my R clone and have concerns re my oil pump. I have cleaned and inspected it and it turns very nicely by itself. when I connect it to the intermediate shaft and lay it in the case half, when turning the intermediate shaft gear, the pump spins freely, but moves slightly on the three bolts. I swapped the position on the spines and it still moves slightly. When I bolt the pump in place and turn the intermediate shaft, there is a very slight bind in one spot. I am wondering if one of the shafts in the pump could be slightly bent? It is a very, very slight bind, and not rough like metal fighting metal. Just a gentle bind. Replace or bolt it up? I disassembled it a couple times to see if I could determine the cause, but everything looks perfect inside and it rotates freely by itself. Any thoughts

HI Speedo
When you have the pump and the intergear bolted in the case, can you slide the connecting/drive tube easily from cir clip to cir clip, as you have the pump running free out of the case and it only binds when in the case, I would look at the shaft or intergear/bearings for correct location.

shaft is free

When bolted in the case, the shaft will slide relatively easily from side to side. I looks as though one of the shafts in the pump (maybe the output) has a minor bend to it, although it is extremely hard to tell. I think I will mount my dial indicator somehow to see if there is any deflection as the oil pump output shaft is rotated.
