Weber Question

Hello All.
I have (I believe) the stock carbs on my 1969 911T:
Weber 40IDTP.3C and 40IDTP.3C1

I'm about to embark on the rebuild - can I use kits specified for: Weber 40IDA3C ?

Our host shows kits not currently available - any suggestions for sources?

I've read thru many of the threads, but any rebuild tips or links are appreciated.:)

There is a "no-name" fuel pump, so I'm going to test it tonight - if it's not right (3.5 psig) then I'll have another question on getting a proper fuel pump - I probably want the original set-up anyway.
Thanks, Bill:)

Bill,

Those carb kits work fine as the differences between IDA's & IDT's are internal in the throttle bodies. :)

Just remember, the majority of the wear in these carbs occurs in the throttle shafts and bushings. Sometimes new bushings doesn't fix the problems and that calls for oversize throttle shafts which is not a DIY unless you are a machinist.

The OEM Bosch pumps are NLA so you will need something different such as a Pierburg, Carter or Holley.

Take pictures before disassembly. The right and left are the same. Rebuild one at a time so you can have a referance. 101 Projects for your Porsche 911 by Wayne Dempsy was very useful throughout the rebuild process.
