Head/Cylinder/Case Surfaces

Pelicamechanics

Now that the engine is disassembled and I have access to these surfaces what should I look for or measure to ensure when I reassemble that I minimize (i.e. hopefully eliminate) oil leaks from these areas? I plan on replacing the metal head gasket ring with the wider graphite type and the copper/o-ring base seal with the recommended green viton version.

Your responses are appreciated
