ARP studs in mag case w/ savers... again. torque?

Hi folks,

I have a set of ARP studs that I was going to use (I got a great deal on them so please don't tell me i should be using other ones!) on my 2.7 RS build. My case has case savers installed. The ARP instructions recommend 36ft/lbs. Seems like a lot for a mag case. I have read all of the assorted threads on this and nobody seemed to have an opinion. Any one out there install this combo and what did you do?

Thanks.

Factory studs are 32NM (23.5 ft-lb) so I think you are on to something here.

Just got off the phone with ARP. they actually recommend 38 ft lbs of torque for the studs! I'm pretty sure the case savers would hold that, they are pretty beefy. the arp rep told me that they had been tested in all applications they are listed for (he seemed like he was reading a sheet though). Anyone out there use this value?

JMHO, but I would not putting 38 lbs-ft on the studs of any mag case, no matter what inserts they might have. I don't think ARP is familiar with those engine cases,..................

that's what I was thinking as well. might try to sell these and go another direction if only for my own sanity.
