Air Box Removal
Hello -
I'm new to the site and have looked everywhere for information on the correct way to remove the air box, so I can replace runner boots and gaskets. Any help would be appreciated - since I normally work on type I VW engines. The 3.0 engine I'm working on is in a 356 speedster kit car - that has sit for some time and everything is dried up - it runs but not good. Want to eliminate any areas where vaccum leaks might have a potential to cause issues with the fuel injection system. Thanks ![]() |

John,
Sorry I didn't get the pictures...I got distracted wiring a car. ![]() I did take a look at the SC engine I have sitting here and at the one in my 911. I have VERY serious doubts that you can get the airbox out without dropping the engine. The bracketry is a bear. I did a search on this site and the guys here say you can drop the engine part way on a 911 to get the airbox off. I looked at my 911 and know that I lack that talent. I would have to drop the engine completely to do it. I doubt the IM has any more clearance... angela
