Am I Doing This Right?

Cam timing is a very scary process if you've never done it before. Can someone who has done this a few times let me know if this is good?

The dial on the left is showing #1 at TDC, the indicator on the right is showing .63mm for the intake lift on #4. I tried it a few times and it appears to be consistent. I just don't want to hit the ignition key unless this step is done correctly...

BTW, I did not open the other side of the engine.

Hi!
I think you are doing it right, but I think that value is incorrect. (Allthogh I don't know what engine you have, and what the correct value should be...)

Use the search button, and/or look here:

That was basically my question. This is a turbo and the Bentley Manual indicated that the intake is 3 degrees after TDC, which is different than the NA engines and translates to .60-.65mm of lift.

Thanks,
Mark

I can't confirm that number but it sounds about right. Why don't you just turn the crank 360 degrees and see what the other cam is timed to? You want them to be the same setting as each other.
