Cam Timing - Remove rocker arms?
I'm in the process of reassembling my motor after replacing all of the head studs, two were broken. My question is regarding the cam timing and whether I need to remove the rocker arms (2,3,5,6) in order to properly time the cams. I removed the heads and cam towers in one piece and I have not disassembled them. So, I'd prefer to set the timing with the heads fully assembled.
Any reason why I can not proceed with all of the rockers in place? Regards, Dave |
Dave,
You don't have to remove them, but you should back the adjusting screws all the way out (all 12) before installing the chains and rotating the crank to TDC on #1. Mike... |
Thanks Mike.
