which con rod do I have?

Some bad news....

I brought the no4 rod to work and popped it on a surface table.

Its bent. Took it to a engine reconditioning place, they confirmed its bent.

I suspect its staightenable but I reckon I would prefer to get a replacement.

I went to check the part number as I am aware that they come in weight groups.

But the number on the rod does not seems to correspond to the numbers in Wayne dempsey's book, the Pelican website or the porsche manual I have got.

According to WD's book, it should be 930.103.015.51/2/3/4/etc each increment in suffix being one 9 gram weight group up.

The rod I have shows 930.103.105.0R and a mark that looks like a lower case 's' in a upper case 'W', and on the side of the rod by the bearing cap mating face it says 901.

Any ideas? Will have to check the other rods tonight.

I found out, the number on the rod is the casting number, so I weighed my rod, its 701.8 grams.

Think I may have found one.

you will have a rod at 695g, check the crank is also OK and not bent???

Just a note for future reference, I have found that that in most cases, Porsche related casting numbers and part numbers for the rods by switching the first two digits of the last set of three digits in the number. The casting number would be 105 and the part number 015. The may not hold true for all rods as I haven't had all of them at hand to check.

Others may chime in with their findings...
