3.6 Nose Bearing Pin/Dowel
 

I am assembling a 3.6 and have a question about the dowel retaining the nose bearing. According the diagram http://www.pelicanparts.com/PartsLookup/E_911C2_KATALOG.PDF , thanks Pelican!, I need PN 900 012 061 00 Straight Pin. The measurement is listed as 5 H 8 X 10.

The only similar pin/dowel I found in my bucket o' parts is 12mm high with a diameter of 5mm. Is this the correct pin/dowel for the nose bearing, or is it used somewhere else? I'm getting cross eyed reading parts diagrams, I could use some confirmation before I button up the case.

H8 would be the tolerance on the 5mm diameter dowel (more likely the lower case h8 = -0.018 / +0.000) mm.

The 5mm dimension seems right on, it fits in the case just fine. It's the 12mm portion that I'm concerned about. I cant find another application for the pin, so I assume it's the correct one, be it 2mm too long.

measure the depth of the bearing hole and the case hole, then you'll know. i've used a cut off drill bit shank occasionally when the dowel was nowhere to be found.
