911 piston casting numbers
I need the list of numbers of the casting on the inside of the piston that tells me exactly what the piston is.
There is also numbers on the outside of the cylinders cast in that should have a description as to what the numbers and++ signs mean Any help is appreciated. TIA, Bruce |
Tom1324racing posted a list some time ago, use search to find it.

I need help, a have a 911 sc 1981 german engine, that i'm rebuilding .would like to know which piston to use regar to hp original piston are 95L70++ and 2nd. set are 95P36++ , i'm using the same 911 sc cylinders.
thanks |
The 95P36++ are Carrera 3.2 pistons. They will not work with your stock SC crank and rods. You would have to have the wrist pin ends on the rods modified to work with the 3.2 pistons.
The 95L70 are the correct 3.0 SC Euro pistons for your motor. |
Anyone know what a 95P30 W2 is? I have some 95P30 RSR pistons and then I have the W2 version that has a huge dome on them.

The 95P30 W2 shown in your pic is the 10.5 CR.
The standard 95P30 is the non CIS 9.8 CR 9.8 CR http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1230606607.jpg 10.5 CR http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1230606703.jpg |
Tom, thanks for the pics and info! Excellent!

Could I ask if you have a similar ref list for cylinders. I have 90ZN2 W1 90ZN2 W2 854/1B 854/2B and would like to find out what they are Regards Mike |
854/1B
854/2B These are both 90mm (2.7 liter) KS Alusil cylinders. 90ZN2 W1 90ZN2 W2 These are most likely 90mm (2.7 liter) Mahle Alusils. Check to see if the inner bore is slightly magnetic. If the wall do not attract a magnet (like the KS cylinders), they are Alusil. If they attract a magnet, they are Nikasil. |
Thanks Tom
