Flywheel thickness
 

I'm replacing clutch/flywheel in my SC motor and have had flywheel machined and surfaced - looks good.
Minimum thickness for this flywheel is stated as 8.5mm, and after machining mine is 8.76mm. Should I use it?
For reference, a new flywheel measures 10.92 mm thick.

Enjoy the lightness! You are within spec and the metal doesn't really wear down that much.

OK - I hadn't considered the weight reduction but its probably significant with a ~20% decrease in thickness. I'm going to weigh them to check.
I just want reassurance that it will have a reasonable service life under normal street conditions with a fairly stock 3.0.

Less material means there will be a greater chance for surface cracking. If you intend to drive this engine hard, replace the flywheel. If your intent is casual drive, run the flywheel.

BTW I just got my distributor back from you and it looks bloody beautiful! I didn't expect all the replating work and the really nice job filling in the old vacuum actuator hole etc. Excellent work.
