First oil changes on rebuilt motor

I'm buying a rebuilt motor.
I has about 1 hour on the test stand with Brad Penn break-in oil.

What's next?

Visit the "Why we hate SM" thread, fill 'er up with whatever is fits your version of the best/whats available and let 'er rip!

For what its worth I understand some people (myself included) subscribe to the "thrash her hard and get lots of engine-braking compression runs on the motor early on" theory. Get it off the stand and into the car!

congratulations and happy new year.

you'll get tons of opinions on this thread
here are my 2cents...

assuming you've got 1 hour then cams and bearings are probably heat cycled.
still, I'd do a valve adjust and oil change.. then 20 minutes above idle as another heat cycle just to be sure

over night cool down (24 hours minimum) and another valve adjust and oil change. Also throw in a head bolt re-torque. Dino oil only at this point.

500 miles of street driving at varied rpm with no redlines
or chip your redline to 5500 and try to keep in much lower than that..
if its on track, you need to rent practice time not at an event so there is no temptation to "get into it" or chase down anyone.

another oil change, valves, and head torque
then raise your rpm and have fun.

my 2 cents
