CIS conversion to Weber carbs

I have a 74 911S with CIS and want to swap to Weber carbs. I understand this change is pretty worthless unless you also change camshafts. Can anybody tell me which camshafts to use that won't require me to change pistons?

IMHO, you don't need to change cams, but it does help a bit.

You can use either early "T" cams or a 964 profile (ground on 3-bearing ones).

Steve is correct. If you don't modify the pistons (IE: change or add valve pockets) your cam choices are very limited.

If you can modified the pistons, I would recommend Solex cams for all around fun street driving.

Would a T cam add any HP over a CIS cam? How does it compare to the 964 grind?
