Clutch, Pressure Plate, Throw Out Bearing Installation

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Planning to install clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing tomorrow, but Sachs kit has 4 rings, and no installation instructions

Can someone please provide a link, or send a schematic?

I have absolutely no idea how these go

Thanks

Jon

I'm not sure what you mean by 4 rings..? -What kind?
If you are replacing everything, you only need to do this:

1: Install the throw out bearing assembly to the pressure plate
2: Take off the gear for the starter from the old pressure plate, and install it on the new. (Easy)
3: Install everything to the engine flywheel.

If you are replacing your existing clutch, it is a good idea to see how it's all put together, once removed.

There is a cir-clip holding the bearing to the pressure plate. If you push down hard on the plate, while the bearing is underneath and against the floor, you will see a gap round the cir-clip. Then pry it out.

Here is a picture of my clutch, where you can see the bearing assembly in the bottom part of the picture. The cir-clip I mentioned is accessible from the other side.

Good luck!

Release Bearing

Here is a picture of the order of the rings:

As you can see the two shims go on the bearing, then the toothed ring with the rounded edge on the fingers of the "outside" of the pressure plate. Then comes the beveled ring and finally the spring clip. The beveled ring will only go on one way and still allow the spring clip to be inserted.

I had to send mine out to AAMCO to have them press down on the PP enough to get the whole assembly to go together. It's an option.
