bosch distrbutor interchangeability.....

Hi,

Does anyone know or has experience with using different distributor types for the same engine type? I have a '71 2.2T and have replaced the Magnetti Marelli with a bosch 231 159 006 (2.2 E) distributor. I have heared this one should be interchangeable with the 008 (2.2T) distributor.

Are their any issues with using this distributor. the 006, on a T?

Thanks for your advise!

Both will run the engine well, you have nothing to compare to except the Marelli and all the Bosch parts are not Italian gold in value.
Enjoy the ride

The advance curves are different, search here for the graphs. Search under my name and "comparative advance"

Thanks John! Can't find the thread you talked about. Do you have a link?

What type of effect will that different advance curve have on the performace of the engine? In other words, do I need to source another distributor?
