Weber Carburetor

Considering purchasing a pair of Weber Carburetors - 40IDA3C. These are the originals made in Italy model. The Webers are in good condition with no shaft play. They are fitted with 32 venturis, 180 airs, 135 mains and 60 idle. Comes with upgraded K&N air filters.

Does anyone know if I bolt these on my stock 1977 911 2.7L engine - will they need further adjustment or tweaking or will it run properly / smoothly, assuming the carburetors are in good condition? Also, my engine does have a 911 S exhaust system.

Mn77,
That setup is a good start for the 2.7 CIS engine, but they will always need tweaking and adjustments, to run properly. Not trying to scare you away. I really like Webers and had them on both my stock 2.7 CIS engine and on my 2.7 hotrod engine. They are a kick in the pants, but you will need to study up on tuning them, etc....or find somebody who knows how to tune them. it's not hard, just takes time, practice and patience.

regards,

al

Al is right; those will work just dandy on your 2.7 provided they are installed, setup, and tuned properly.

I would bump the main jets to 145's to begin and the idle jets to 55's, though,... :)

Don't forget the correct manifolds for your car, linkage, FPR, and all the small bits to make it work. Get yourself the Hayne's Weber book and read up as you should confirm float levels, and blow them out with air after removing all the jets.

Your stock 2.7S exhaust is OK, but the '74 style with a dual-inlet muffler is FAR better. SSI's are the modern version of same,....:)
