CIS fuel line question: Anyone used a 'clear' plastic type hose?
 

I was wondering if anyone has ever found a suitable AND SAFE 'clear' as in see- through fuel hose to replace the Black colored fuel lines that run from the fuel distributor to the 6 cylinder fuel injectors??
I am interested in this so a visual check can bee made to ensure all lines are flowing completely and no air bubbles or crap running through them also i.e. bad gas...?
Anyone found a source for this hose~tube material and it has worked w/o issues??

Bob, There are a few very good manufactures out there for what you are looking for. The first one that coms to mind is "Cohline". German company that supplies the plastic style clear fuel line for many European auto manufactures. They had sizes from 4mm OD to 8mm OD that can handle different working pressures. In the USA there is a company called "Parker" that makes a clear plastic fuel line called "Parker ParFlex".
I'm using this fuel line, 5mm OD, on my MFI engine. Also the "Cohline" company makes the fuel injection hose end fittings in various sizes. I have a supplier hear in Oregon that stocks the "Parker ParFlex" and can have it in 1 day. If you can't find what you are looking for let me know and I will get it for you.

i just fixed a long time problem due to a bad injector line. see post in tech forum.
i dont know if a clear line would have helped. i think my line just had a bad spot, not dirt or rust like i had expected.

thanks Mark for your info! The clear that cohline and parker parflex make... are these clear or white like on some mfi engines that I have seen?? I am looking for clear i.e. can see gas go through it and it won't yellow or turn white after contact with gas.
Do you have any part numbers? I will try to find on both co's websites if they have one.

Cohline prefers to sell in LARGE quantities only, like to car companies. Hard to find a supplier that carries the full line that won't make you buy 25m.

This is good information. Anybody know how to get the ends into the tubing? How did the factroy do it? Heat the tubing, jam them in then let it cool?

Bob, The fuel line is called clear and you can see the fuel inside, but it's not glass clear.
"ahdomam" Jim Cummings at Auto Sport 800-356-9146 (you gotta love that phone number) has most all the CIS & MFI fuel line fittings. How to put the fittings on......That is no easy task. I'm making a tool now to install the fittings into 5mm OD lines. Look up a company called "Unobtainium Supply" the owners name is Verell and he makes the tool for installing the fittings. His phone # (978) 448-2110.
John is right about fuel line quantities. Most only sell 20 meters on up.
