When using RSR Rocker Shafts and Shims...
 
I have a motor w/ RSR rocker shims and the non-adjustable RSR shafts.

What is the lever ratio? 1.40:1? 1.55:1?

I am getting .020" at the cam/lobe face with no shims and I'm trying to figure out what size shims I need.

The goal is obviously .004" at the elephant foot which translates to ~.00285" at the cam face, using a 1.40 ratio.

If I am getting .020" @ the cam face with no shim, then I have .028" @ the valve. If I need a .004" clearance there w/ this 1.40:1 ratio, then I think I need a .024" shim set.

Is this correct?

Does anyone know where to order these shims? Or please let me know if you have some for sale...

Rocker ratio for RSR rockers is published at 1.50:1.
Adjustable rockers are 1.45:1
Valve adjustment shims should be available from Porsche Motorsport and Andial.
Back in the day when Porsche lash caps were not available we used Alfa lash caps from a 1974 GTV if memory serves me correctly.

you need to make a tool to check the rockers, as thay are not all the same and swapping the rockers round could/will change the clearance, I made up this to check the rockers and had spare ones for adjustment,

I used a old rocker shaft for location and as you can see, if you fit the rocker on and adjust the screw to touch, you can then check the other rockers for gap or no gap, other wise you spend your time fitting rockers and shims to get the right combination for the valve clearance, some times the shims will not give the correct clearance , so checking and swapping rockers round could be of advantage
the last time I checked the shim part No's thay came back as N/L/A from Porsche, looks like you may have to try Henry's route and fine some Alfa ones or Andial or a race/engine builder that looks after 935's or RSR,s, the other option is to make some thick ones and grind to fit?? do not for get to harden them when finished.
