This is not a small block chevy. You cannot set the cam timing using any marks on the flywheel. Buy the right tool and do it yourself, it's obvious that your "mechanic" is clueless about these unique engines. Ask him if he knows how to check the oil on a 911. I'll bet he gets it wrong.

yup.. it's ridiculous how many of todays mechanics don't have a clue and don't have experience working on these older cars.. but they will take the car in and possibly screw it up worse or waste alot of your time learning and then charge you for it because they need the money.
..and having an expensive car like a porsche in their shop probably looks good to other customers stopping by. |
